Georgianna Pennington Regnier
Attorney

Georgianna Pennington Regnier practices in the areas of business and civil litigation, employment law in State and Federal courts and in administrative forums with an emphasis on Federal Civilian Employees. She is experienced in dispute resolution and served as a court appointed arbitrator and as Pro Tem Mandatory Settlement Conference Judge for many years.  She advises non-profit charitable corporations and serves as general counsel on various local and international boards.

Georgianna’s license to practice extends from all California courts to Washington, D.C.  She recently prevailed before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on appeal from a United States Federal Court of Claims judgment. As senior partner of the county’s previous only all women-owned law practice, the full service firm was awarded State and Federal Governmental contracts and litigation. Georgianna prevailed on groundbreaking anti-discrimination cases and was awarded $2,200,000 in a sexual abuse trial. Her early experience as an attorney for a civil defense firm focused on insurance and municipality defense.

While continuing to serve as general counsel for various non-profit organizations, Georgianna, is an entrepreneur, also serving as general counsel for the family owned corporation she co-founded−managing trademarks, contracts and corporate matters and overseeing operations.

Divorce Mediation

Georgianna is an adjunct professor with Conflict Resolution Training, an international educational organization providing certification programs in a wide range of conflict resolution disciplines. She teaches post-graduate courses in Divorce Mediation, Workplace/Employment Mediation, and specializations in Conflict Resolution and Facilitation in the Workplace.

While maintaining her law practice with S & A, Georgianna lends her mediation skills to the firm’s clients who are divorcing and want to avoid the trauma and expense of having their divorce litigated in the courtroom. Her interest in non-adversarial systems of conflict and dispute resolution began early in her career as a litigator. She witnessed firsthand the deficiencies and challenges presented by the court’s adversarial system of litigation to reach effective, informed and acceptable solutions to conflicts that were presented to courts.

  • Allows divorcing spouses to be in control of the decision-making process.
  • Teaches divorcing spouses about the issues the family court requires you to address once you have decided to divorce.
  • Assists divorcing spouses reach a fair, equitable and amicable resolution of all the issues required by the family court.
  • Based on the mutual agreement of both spouses on all issues, prepares the Marital Settlement Agreement for filing with the Judgment.
